Being creative and an artist, simply put - is what I was born
to do! From a very young age, it was apparent to everyone that my first love was
art. In fact, one of my first major art displays was a huge mural on my mothers bedroom wall - complete in bright red
crayon! I was that kid in the class who loved to draw everyday, all day on anything I could find- my spiral
notebooks, my clothes - you name it, it was going to be "decorated" by yours truly. During my early years, I won
various art awards through local organizations including The Boulevard Art Center, Top Ladies of Distinction/ Top Teens of
America and Chicago's Office of Special Events. It was also in third grade, when I was awarded a 10+ year scholarship
to attend art classes at The Art Institute of Chicago for the duration of my elementary & highschool education.
So, it was a very natural decision for me to continue my training and enroll in The School of The Art Institute of Chicago,
to become a professional artist.
As a undergraduate student, I studied various types of art, later choosing to major
in Fashion Design. In 2002, I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts.
Fast forward to 2006, art was still in
my heart, but now it was sharing a space with a new love - my fiance' Britt. So there I was again- drawing,
painting & creating - but this time, it was for a very special project- my own wedding!
After receiving so
many complements that day, numerous requests began pouring in from people wanting help my to design their wedding. So with
that, Chocolate Brooms & Bouquets was born. A year later, I decided to step out on faith and launch a wedding floral &
decor company.
Chocolate Brooms & Bouquets has allowed me the wonderful opportunity to help other brides,
grooms and their families to make their wedding spectacular. I work hard to make sure each of our couples are truly satisfied
with our products & service. It is with great pleasure that I help you to have the wedding of your dreams!
